Follow-up Comment #1:

This bug was fixed in findutils version 4.2.0.   The current stable release of
findutils is 4.2.23.

$ ~/source/GNU/findutils/installed/bin/find-4.2.0 . -print \)
/home/james/source/GNU/findutils/installed/bin/find-4.2.0: unexpected extra
predicate
$ ~/source/GNU/findutils/installed/bin/find-4.2.0 . --version
GNU find version 4.2.0
