An empty string is incorrect:
ay:~> TIME_STYLE= ls -l
ls: ambiguous argument `' for `time style'
Valid arguments are:
- `full-iso'
- `long-iso'
- `iso'
- `locale'
Try `ls --help' for more information.
So, you should set it to "locale" (this is OK since the script
sets the locales to C).
