Both of these problems have been fixed for quite some time; the
current release of findutils is 4.2.13.  This is available on
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/ but I haven't uploaded it (or any 4.2.x release)
to ftp://ftp.gnu.org/.

Perhaps it's time to move a release to ftp.gnu.org.  Any thoughts,
list members?

Thanks for pointing that out.  I have now fixed this in the
development code.
