Gentlemen, I hereby propose you adding a -quit switch to find.
$ find tree -newer timestamp -exec sound_the_alarm \; -quit
The alarm only needs to be sounded once, as soon as we find something has
changed. We want to stop then and there, no need to go on thru the tree.
