install doing unwanted things

Hi,

Forgot to tell what system/version I have.

This is a Red Hat 8.0 with:

        fileutils-4.1.9-11

If I would send a patch that gets rid of this behaviour, would it be 
accepted or wouldn't I have to bother ? ;-)
