I have compiled and installed fileutils on Mac OS X.
I just noticed that the first file in a listing gets the timestamp
of the current time, not its last modification time that would be
listed if it was not the only file being listed.
ie... (current time is 13:39 Jul 23)
ls included with OS X:
>/bin/ls -al zimmy
-rw------- 1 zimmy staff 66233 Jul 10 11:06 zimmy
ls (fileutils) 4.1:
>ls -al zimmy
-rw------- 1 zimmy staff 66233 Jul 23 13:39 zimmy
ls (fileutils) 4.1:
>ls -al
drwxr-xr-x 77 zimmy staff 2574 Jul 23 13:39 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 92 Apr 22 21:14 ..
.

.
-rw------- 1 zimmy staff 66233 Jul 10 11:06 zimmy
>ls --version
ls (fileutils) 4.1
