[bug-fdisk] fdisk compiled with gcc 4.2.1 corrupts partition table

i recently considered replacing the standard linux version with yours.

kernel 2.6.18.5
glibc 2.3.6

no known issues with parted on my system, latest version used.

compiled with GCC 4.2.1 and 3.4.6 

the 4.2.1 executable corrupts the partition table, the 3.4.6 does not.

I can make available the exe that fails with debugging...tell me what you
want me to do.
