I have this error message: Rescued data in mapfile goes past end of input file. Use '-C' if you are reading from a partial copy.
This means that the first DVD reader reported a size larger than the second DVD reader did. Maybe the first reader rescued the two lead out sectors at the end of the DVD, and the second reader does not recognize them as part of the input. See http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/manual/ddrescue_manual.html#Optical-media
Ddrescue complains because the sizes do not match. This is to prevent accidentally overwriting an image with unrelated data from the wrong input device.
If you are sure that the DVD is the same, just give ddrescue the option -C so that it can try to fill the gaps.
Best regards, Antonio.
