[Bug-ddrescue] Installing lzip so I can install ddrescue 1.22

Ran into an error while trying to install lzip so I can then extract
ddrescue 1.22.

This is probably obvious to most of you... Here's the error I received and
I am not sure how to proceed:

Funi:lzip-1.19 ezx$ make install

if [ ! -d "/usr/local/bin" ] ; then install -d -m 755 "/usr/local/bin" ; fi

install -m 755 ./lzip "/usr/local/bin/lzip"

install: /usr/local/bin/lzip: Permission denied

make: *** [install-bin] Error 71
