I hacked up something that seemed to clean up the log file enough to get 
ddrescue going again. Basically it took the position from the corrupted 
line, recalculated the offset, and then set is as untried (\).  In the 
end I figured I didn't need what was on the drive enough to continue 
with what looked to be a long process with an uncertain outcome.

In my case it's a samba exported file system.  I would have expected it 
to be fine and in my case it was either that or NFS, which I didn't have 
already set-up.  Oh well... maybe next time.
