Well, if it's used a lot at JPL, I'm intrigued.

How about you prepare another patch which addresses Erik's comments, and I'll 
check it out in more detail once I have write access to the repo. I am inclined 
to agree that supporting JPL would be nice, provided the patch passes all tests 
and doesn't have any obvious problems.
