error message: cvs [log aborted]: space expected

Hello everyone

I'm getting an error whenever I want to execute

cvs log inst_od_opl.ora.sql

The complete message is

cvs [log aborted]: space expected in
/var/cvs/arcos/cvs/ascom/arcos/db/sql/inst_od_opl.ora.sql,v revision 1.6

I'm using cvs 1.12.13-4 on Debian testing. I access the repository on our
Solaris Server via SSH.

CVSROOT= :ext:user@hostname:/var/cvs/arcos/cvs
CVS_RSH=ssh

The file is about 527k, so I haven't attached it. But If this is necessary
I will of course do it.

I hope someone can shed some light on this. I've searched the whole
Internet and the mailinglist and haven't found anything.
