Well, before you are too impressed I suppose I should say I've used
awk/regex for years.  The sad thing is, I actually did see the "repeating"
flaw you fixed, and must confess that I was probably somewhat lazy
and was not 100% in the mode of going digging in the books for how
to  best fix that.  I sort of figured people wouldn't be dumb enough to
put that in cvs.texinfo... but that wasn't really a good excuse was
it?  Thanks for showing me how you improved it and why it was
an improvement.  I've decided perl is cool, so I'll put that knowledge
to use sooner than later,  I hope.
