Greetings CVS'ers,
The "import output" node of the cvs 1.12.10 manual contains this
text at the end:
(Various options in the `modules' file can be used to recreate
symbolic links on checkout, update, etc.; *note modules::.)
After discussing symlinks and CVS at some length recently with Derek
Price, I think this statement may be incorrect. The module options
specify programs that run on the server, right? So they can't be used
to recreate symlinks on the clients.
If there is indeed a way for clients to recreate symlinks using module
options (or by any other method involving cvs), I'd very much like to
know the details.
(Also, the "update" part of the above statement presumably refers to the
modules -u option aka Update.prog, which is now gone.)
Regards,
karl
