In case you managed to get your test suite working by commenting out failing
tests, I'll answer this anyhow. The problems I have usually encountered
getting the test suite running on Solaris have been due to Solaris having
versions of expr and sort that don't work as expected. I fixed it by
installing GNU sort and GNU expr on the boxes in question.
As an aside, I believe the GNU versions are the ones that adhere to POSIX,
not the Sun versions, but that's hearsay.
