Hi,

I'm getting these same errors. It's nice to know that this isn't a problem with GCC 3.5 CVS! I'm trying to port various bits of code over to 3.5 in anticipation of its dim and distant release and subsequent incorporation into Portage (Gentoo Linux's package manager).

"make check" support was recently added to Portage, so I've been running the testsuites against all the base system packages, and most are struggling through - except for groff, automake, flex, openssl and, now, coreutils. So, my question is: is there any chance anyone's fixed this yet? Or am I simply going to have to either exclude the test, or rewrite it myself?

Incidentally, several other things in "make check" are failing if one decides to use, for example, su from shadow, or uptime from procps. There appears to be a test to make sure that everything was built; obviously this one breaks. I'll report back at greater length about this one when I've analysed it more fully.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Rob
