Yes, that would be an improvement.

If someone sends in a maintainable patch to do that,
I'll be happy to apply it.  By `maintainable', I mean that
the text describing the common case must appear just once,
and then it must be made to appear in the 70+ places where
it's needed.

I've added that to the `TODO' list.
