mkfifo could add a -f option, so instead of
"mkfifo: cannot create fifo `g.txt.serial': File exists"
it could go ahead and make it anyway.
True, one could first test(1), but all its brothers and sisters, cp,
ln, rm, have -f, so to not show favoritism...
