bug in french localization

Hello,

A bug in the french localization was repported against the debian package.
The fix for it needs some changes in the source. Could you hava a look at it 
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?archive=no&bug=131113)
and comment? 

As coordinator of the french team for the Translation Project, which
translates coreutils, I can get the changes to the po file accepted, but I
need your help for the changes related to the source.
