Do please be careful with this version, while I don't think there
is anything wrong with it, I have not finished documenting or
making final decisions. More is to come. Do let me know about
any problems compiling it though. 

Anyone interested in the latest fixes and features is free to play.

This version now has a separate script cf.update which is run before
the rest of the config is parsed, so that file updates can be
separated from the rest of the configuration.
