You should, but there have been bugs in that area in Bison recently.
Perhaps you could try the latest test version:

If that doesn't work, please send a program that illustrates the bug
you're observing.

        Thanks for the speedy response.

        I ./configured and compiled that version for cygwin last night.

        Unfortunately it core-dumps immediately when I feed it my script.

        That could be due to a real problem with the version and my script,
or it could be that making bison happy with the cygwin environment involves
some further modifications, which I am unaware of. I don't usually build cygwin
utilities, I just use them.  I have seen some discussion on the cygwin
mail-lists which I thought implied some extra patching, but that may only have
been for certain packages.

        I could grind the rust of my gdb skills and look into the crash.

        Or, I look into the build some more and see if I'm doing it wrong.

        Or, I could just post the problem demo.

        What would you prefer?
