Support for ConTeXt in font-latex is rather limited (after all it's
called font-_latex_). Ideally this bug would be fixed by implementing
generalized facilities for the recognition and font locking of
constructs for verbatim content.
As a workaround you can put %$ at a line ending somewhere after the
verbatim environment.
