Hello!
When adding a new command (XeTeX and XeLaTeX are of great personal
concern) I am offered theoretical ``How:´´ options:
TeX-run-command
TeX-run-format
TeX-run-TeX
TeX-run-interactive
TeX-run-BibTeX
TeX-run-compile
TeX-run-shell
TeX-run-discard
TeX-run-background
TeX-run-silent
TeX-run-discard-foreground
TeX-run-function
Other
None of them is documented. How can I make the right choice?
Particularly then when the hints in the customisation window are
identical for a few of them:
Create a process for NAME using COMMAND to process FILE.
Return the new process.
Create a process for NAME using COMMAND to format FILE with TeX.
Create a process for NAME using COMMAND to format FILE with TeX.
Run TeX interactively.
Run command in a buffer (in comint-shell-mode) so that it accepts
user
interaction. If you return to the file buffer after the TeX run,
Error parsing on C-x ` should work with a bit of luck.
Create a process for NAME using COMMAND to format FILE with BibTeX.
Ignore first and third argument, start compile with second argument.
Ignore first and third argument, start shell-command with second
argument.
Start process with second argument, show output when and if it arrives.
Start process with second argument.
Call process with second argument in the foreground, discarding its
output.
With support for MS-DOS, especially when dviout is used with
PC-9801 series.
Execute Lisp function or function call given as the string COMMAND.
