Hi Laurence,

Yes, we are agreed, on this.

Using the transpose words, works. I just didn't know.
What
your technique was. (There isn't a \* |true| *\
comment at
line 1496: file scanprse.cxx.)

Using grep. I found the m-f Scan_parse::output_func()
in
file scanprse.cxx.

Also, I wasn't sure if it were allowed, to edit this
outside of the scanprse.web (web source)??? I suppose,
as
long as I just run, 'make' in the CWEB dir. This
wouldn't
case an issue.

Ok, I'll try your suggestion.

My methods might not be the most sound, I'll admit.
But, I
feel very strongly about "having my feet" on the
ground. Before, I start overlooking everything. I
don't
need to do MetaPost. However, I would like to
understand
"the raw way" it works.

But, yes, using 3DLDF is a nice replacement for
it. Especially, when this release is solid. (I'm not
putting pressure on you.)

I have a printed copy of your volumnious 3dLDF User
(good
example of free documentation) Manual. Which, I've
already
read once, and plan to do again. (Even bound in a
notebook. I was getting tired of thumbing through
loose
pages and the staples scratching things.)

It is just to explain my perspective. You do have "one
hell
of a massive programmed system," here. Besides, too
many
particular programming mannerisms, and various special
(all
free) free software tools. This has been quite a steep
learning curve. I think, if you could ask the average
Linux
user. Why didn't they decide to use 3DLDF? The first
answer, besides, don't like TeX or postscript graphics
with
text systems; would be "I couldn't understand it."

We'll both have to work on making it clear for
everyone. I'm especially interested in the "porting"
aspects, what is wrong running on this or that system,
and
(perhaps) a more introductory angle, than you would
care to
tell people. (But, yes the FAQ will help in this
concern,
too.)

Yes, though, you are very nice and understanding. You
answer all questions. But, you could say a few more
complimentary statements in emails. ((A casual I
appreciate
would be nice.))

So, thank you. Got to go to bed.

Glen

Ahh, yes, the listserv. I wasn't aware of it refusing
multiple sender messages. I'll just do separate
emails. No
problem.
