Bubblemon uses libgtop2 for all system load measurements, RAM / Swap included. libgtop2 gets its data from /proc/meminfo. The format of /proc/meminfo has changed from the 2.4 series to the 2.6 series, and libgtop2 cannot parse /proc/meminfo any more.

This seems to have been fixed in Gnome2.4 (according to "http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104747";), and in Debian ("http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=201876";). I don't know about the status for other versions / distributions.

Glad you like the applet :-).

I didn't see any reference to this in the list archives, but does anyone
know why, under the 2.6-test series (and the older 2.5.x) bubblemon's
memory reporting is not out of total ram you have? For example, it
sometimes says xxx/124 or xxx/320 or any other number. I have 512M of
ram. I really like bubblemon and hate to give it up :(

Thanks!
