It seems to means either prologue or C decls, but it's the same thing.
Your use of parens is fine here too:
@var{Prologue (or C declarations)}
or
@var{Prologue (C declarations)}
or even (forget about C)
@var{Prologue (declarations)}
I let you adjust the rest, it's OK.
