Hi, The best format is side-by-side (half or full frame) video encapsulated in an MKV file. If you have an unprotected BluRay disc, you can use this free tool to make the conversion: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/BDtoAVCHD Playing the videos: If you’re on Win7 and using the 3D monitor and Nvidia glasses, you’re better off using the 3D Vision Video Player from Nvidia itself. You can download it from the Nvidia website. If you want to use the RealD glasses (not Real 3D), you’ll need the following (I’ve done it successfully on Win7 and Ubuntu 11.10): · Two (preferably DLP) projectors. I’ve seen also some monitors that work with RealD glasses, by polarizing the odd lines for one eye and the even lines to the other, but these are not easy to find. Nvidia capable screens do not support polarized light stereo. · A graphics board which supports two monitors simultaneously. I believe the one you have is ok. · A pair of polarizing filters, one for each projector. RealD system uses circular polarized light (in Europe, at least), not linear, so the filters must be circular polarizers. · A projection screen that doesn’t depolarize light as it is reflected. Projecting to a wall or a regular white screen won’t do. Usually a silver screen, but not all preserve light polarization. The projectors should be stacked on top of each other and pointed to the screen, so both images perfectly align over one another. · In Win7, you need to setup your screens side by side in the Nvidia control panel (see attached picture). Be sure that Nvidia 3D Stereo and SLI are turned off. In Linux the same can be done. If you need, I can send you my xorg.conf file. With this configuration, and with media created with BDtoAVCHD, you can use Bino in Windows or Linux, with SBS or Half-SBS. Cheers! I hope the dev team provides 3d support for theis config at some future point. Real 3d glasses are what movie theathers in the USA are using for their 3d content. I believe they use polorized lens, one in the horizontal the other verticle. My linux boxes use nvidia 9800 gt cards. One uses a standard lcd panel with a 60 hz refresh rate, so I'm not sure if 3d is a possibility here. The other uses a higher end crt projector with variable hor and vert frequency rates, 3d may be a possibility on this device. I'll have to research what tools are available to copy & convert a 3d blu ray into a mkv file. I have a few 3d video clips that are mkv format, but haven't been able to figure out what the correct input and display format should be. Is there any tools I could utilize to identify the file format?
