Hello, I am pleased to announce a beta-quality release of Bibledit for Microsoft Windows 32-bit. This release was built using mingw and depends solely on libraries common to Windows platforms since 2000. Running this on 95/98/Me is probably not going to work. NT4 may or may not. It is however, known to work with caveats on Windows XP SP3. Those caveats are: * Push the close button (X) and Bibledit will crash. File/Exit seems to close cleanly. * The bibledit-git process polls the CPU when it has no tasks. Not sure why it is so much more expensive on Windows than POSIX, but it's under investigation. * Git remote repositories require git-pull, which is a Unix shell script. I will (soon) bundle GNU bash and try to test that out. For now, assume that git-pull won't. * Subprocesses launched by bibledit-bin have yet to be translated to Windows compatible command lines. * Windows Outpost is completely untested, and probably doesn't work yet. Please test this on production projects, now that the git integration is functional. As with all Free Software, it comes with no warranty for suitably for any purpose. https://thedennisons.org/~dand/bibledit-3.5-mingw-release.zip Unzip, rename the 'release' folder to Bibledit, and enjoy.
