The windows have all been detached as a result of implementing a feature
request. There was a request that there would be a possiblity to place
every window anywhere on the screen, so that the user would have total
control over where his windows are. One window could be on workspace
one, and another window could be on workspace two, and so on, or various
windows could be on one screen and others on another screen. With
Alt-Tab the user can switch from one window to another, just as if each
window is a separate program. It will be difficult to loose this option
again when going back to the fixed UI. Users have asked for it, so there
is a need for it. The solution probably lies along the lines of making
it to look and feel as if it is a fixed ui, yet everything is still
moveable freely. That way both requests are fulfilled. Teus.
