Not sure what's going on. My code is at Head, and I checked and all the code changes are there including the changes to the xml.  I'm going to do a fresh pull in a vm and see what happens.

The screenshot of your application shows the old situation where a scrollbar was used as the resize widget. The problem with that on Ubuntu 12.10 with Gnome 3 was that the scrollbar would not be visible unless the mouse would hover over it.

The new situation uses a GtkLabel as the resize widget. This label does not disappear. A screenshot of the new resizers is here:

I do not understand how it is possible that you do a checkout, and then get the old situation. When I build from the current source on my machine, I get the new resizer widgets.
