I tried this, and it works fine with me.

The cause that it didn't work with you could be the following. At times, when
bibledit did not quit gracefully, the internal web server of the previous
instance keeps the port locked. As a result the new web server of Bibledit
cannot get access to the port. It is from here that the message about "...
localhost" comes. Rebooting would help.
