Details:
There is no way to have 2 projects open side by side (this works) and switch
off parallel scrolling.
Paratext has this feature (no grouping) which is useful in some contexts.
If this trick mentioned below works well for this purpose, it would be
helpful to have it implemented as a BE tool.

There is not now such a feature in Bibledit. All open windows always scroll
simultaneously.
One trick that could be done is to search for e.g. a space, so that all
verses get loaded in the reference window. Then one can scroll through the
references window to see certain verses of choice.
