[be] BE 4.0 update (was: BE 3.8-1 crashes when loading a copied project)

As I do not know, how the normal upgrading of BE and updating by Crosswire stable packages work together,
I suppose that the best is to wait for the package BE 4.0 Jonathan Marsden is working on.
Right?

Any bibledit version before 4.0 when running on Ubuntu 9.10 and when the
text has footnotes crashes. The suggestion would be to upgrade to
