Follow-up Comment #3:
The problem is caused by a bug, as far as I can tell, in glib, where
processes are started, stopped, and so on, many times, and at length it uses
more and more memory, and at the end the problem you mention occurs. If you
know of another library that starts binaries, I'd be glad to hear about it.
