Follow-up Comment #1:
This behaviour is by design.
The undo stack is kept in memory.
After change of a chapter that memory is cleared.
Undo is still possible after changing the chapter.
After changing the chapter the user can use the "Revert" option in the "Edit"
menu for going back to a previous state of that chapter.
The Revert option uses the Snapshots system, where snapshots of chapters are
taken and kept for a long time, though the snapshots are thinned out when time
proceeds.
