[be] [task #9414] Bibledit should use a release branch for major releases

Follow-up Comment #3, task #9414 (project bibledit):

I suppose the feature request is to have fixes in the master branch
backported to the stable releases. This is especially true with respect to
security-related fixes.

If that's not going to be possible, would it be possible to indicate in the
tracker(s) which changeset numbers include the desired fixes? Then the
distribution maintainers can cherrypick into their stable track.
