Follow-up Comment #1, task #8708 (project bibledit):
If no collaboration is used, then the version of git that comes with Ubuntu
8.04 is good enough. Bibledit uses git internally to keep track of changes.
The standard git is good enough for that. So it may be easier for people who
don't collaborate, to just use the standard git. It saves them installing
something from source that's not needed. I must remember to do an automatic
check on git when setting up collaboration, that it will fail when it notices
a certain version number, a version that's known to be broken.
