Adding comments:

... the key thing we are implementing are the strategies for merging imports
and producing partial exports when you want to send updates between
collaborating team member. The goal would be to allow this in a mixed
tool/computer environment.

This may also be a archival and data sharing form to put things up to be
shared with the broader world.
