Follow-up Comment #3, task #8078 (project bibledit):

When footnotes and crossreferences are Sword-exported
in BE (e.g. CEVUK Mal 1:2,3)
- footnotes show up correctly (e.g. Mal.1.3)
- crossferences become part of the text (e.g. Mal.1.2):
BE:

-> Let crossreferences be rendered as notes in BT.

As appears in the OSIS test, crossreferences are correctly
passed on to BibleTime as type="crossReference". Now it is
up to Bibledit what to do with it. So this looks like a
feature request for BibleTime to either display xrefs inline
or like a footnote.

Cross References are a filter option and you can turn them off or on.
Currently they are displayed in-line in all modules when on rather than
in
the info display so that you may work with them (i.e. clicking on them to
navigate to them)

For bibles produced by Sword, e.g. English/ISV, cross-references are in
the text, e.g. {Heb 11:39} and moving the cursor over it, this
cross-reference shows up in the mag window (with the standard version
chosen).
For imported bibles, this (showing in the mag window) does not work, e.g.
cevuk where a cross-reference is notes as: {Mt 3.1; Mk 1.4; Lk 3.1,2}.
I suppose that the probleme is, that BT does not recognize the bible book
abbreviations or the dot as seperator between chapter and verses.

This has to be fixed in BibleEdit / the imported work.
Crossrefs need to be marked in OSIS so BibleTime can recognize them. The
presentation inside the {} is independent of that markup.
The config file also has to contains the line which enabled the OSIS
footnote filter.
