Summary: Check file permissions on startup

Initial Comment:
Problems have been reported where Bibledit refuses to startup or to save the 
configuration, and these problems started to surface after the user had 
manually copied the .bibledit directory to his newly installed linux system. It 
would be helpful if bibledit could check on startup whether it has enough 
permissions to do all of it's duties. If not, it should try to fix that. If 
that fails, it should give a message about the problem, and bail out.

It seems that the chown and chgrp did the trick.

 Hi Teus,

Mine is much different. I booted up my system today, and I downloaded and
installed the new *.19 version, but have not run BE yet today.
I will paste my results below yours. I guess that one of the main
differences I see is that I set the group to be "users" rather than "oreo,"
my user name.

I will hold off on doing anything else about permissions until I hear back
from you.

But if you were to manually move .bibledit to a safe place, and then start

Teus,

Looks like I'll have to do what you say.
Yesterday BE started for me without trouble.
I haven't rebooted and tried to run it again today and it refuses.

I did go the the View/Resource Viewer and have numerous times deleted
files there.
It doesn't get remembered.

So looks like permissions are the problem.
