Summary: Way to mass update \fr in footnotes

Initial Comment:
I have several projects which I have imported into Bibledit. One is the whole
Orya NT. When we published the NT, the publisher made each footnote start with
the chapter and verse number (in bold face, formed like this: 6:2). However
this was done in the publishing phase, and my imported Bibledit files still
don't include \fr codes with the chapter and verse. There are over 1,000
footnotes in the whole NT.

Since using an initial \fr is the the prefered way to start a footnote (judging
from how Bibledit is set up), I would like to mass update all my footnotes in
all my projects, so that they all start with an \fr that points to the parent
verse.

I imagine my publisher could give us a Consistent Changes table that would do
that. But perhaps it would be good to add a tool within Bibledit that would do
the same thing.

While it is checking all footnotes, it would be good to have it check that
entries that already have an \fr have the desired format. I am sure that I
entered a number of footnotes with the chapter/verse separator character as a
period. After several weeks using the program, I changed that to a colon, which
is my preference. So it would be good to have the program fix any entries that
are not according to the user's preference.

Thanks!
Phil

Such a tool should be in Bibledit already, under menu Tools / Origin
references in Bible notes.

Does this work for you?

Please try first on a copy of your data, not the original data itself, in
case something unexpected happens.
