Vigal,

Could you write up some documentation of that function?
We could name it and include it but I'm pressing hard for
good, complete documentation from the authors so that someone
30 years from now has a clue. If the original function you
tried to use was documented well you might have been able to
generalize it. Please consider writing a quality piece of
math documentation to explain it.
