Follow-up Comment #4, bug #28344 (project avrdude): Thanks! I should add that a short time after I posted the initial bug report, the behavior of AVRDUDE changed and the error message became a fatal one that aborted programming. This was a bit of a problem and we were telling people to edit their avrdude.conf. Yes, it is probably a datasheet bug.
