You could try to use the config file from "bug #30498 Add support for
new avr devices (atmega324pa)" (https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?30498).
If you use a svn build avrdude you can just add "-C
+atmegaXX4_corrected.conf" to your command line (otherwise you have to
copy this file into the avrdude.conf).
