Basically, by submitting a patch for it (through the project's patch
tracker system). Don't forget to extend the documentation files so
they describe the new programmer, please.
I hope your OS description is not an exclusive one. ;-) I'm working on
FreeBSD myself, I know of at least a few people running AVRDUDE under
Solaris, and of course, there are certainly still people around using
older (even though unsupported) versions of Windows, at least Windows 2000.
