A few days ago I asked Jörg Wunsch privately to elaborate a bit on his 
experience with gcc and avr-libc. Unfortunately he apparently has no time, 
nevertheless one idea expressed was to do arm-libc as part of avr-libc, because 
there are so many common things.

Whatever, I subscribed to the gcc mailing list yesterday, to find out and 
discuss what gcc folks consider to be the best strategy.

If you feel like writing code already, please go ahead! Coming up with some 
actual code is always a very good argument when introducing new projects.
