Clarification: We were discussing doing a 1.7.1 release ASAP, probably within 
the next week.

After that, do a 1.7.2 release in the 1-2 month time frame.

Does that make sense?

If so, then *anything* that is needed in the 1.7.1 release needs to get 
committed very soon.
