What I'd really like to see is the ability to read the signature of
the chip itself at run time.
I know this is nothing that can be fixed at the AVR-LibC/GCC level.
Then I know the contractor put the right chip on the board. Some of
the newer White Good
regulations are getting rather anneal about such things. EU
regulations for refrigerators
and washing machines are getting worse than devices that may actually kill you.
