$ md5sum avr* yields the following signatures. Should they not be the
same?

b335df54d54ad47570f3e1e6794b4532  avr-libc-1.2.5.tar.bz2
becc3550193b4ea248d76e2fc2600917  avr-libc-1.2.5.tar.bz2.sig
