Simple test. Compile the following with -mint8 -mmcu=atmega128:

cat test.c << EOF
#include <avr/io.h>
#include <avr/boot.h>

int main (void)
{
  return 0;
}
EOF

Works for me.

Ok for HEAD and branch.
